On Monday, all of New York was shut down as a precaution for the big snow blizzard that was expected to hit us. By shut down I mean no trains or buses working after a certain time, major highways closed and no cars allowed being on the streets. While some were at home nice and warm, my family and I decided to go out and play in the snow. I had a long time I didn’t play in the snow; it felt good to act like a little kid again even if it was only for a while. 🙂
All of my family, including our newest member of the family, our cute three month old Maltese puppy, Charlie went out to play. (Be sure to follow my Instagram for more cute pics of Charlie!) We put Charlie his cute little fleece winter coat and a scarf and out we all went. This was Charlie’s first snow day and he completely hated it, he did not play in the snow at all, he just wanted to be carried, which, you can probably tell from my pictures. Playing in the snow was fun, but very cold! Thank God I was wearing like a million layers and my warm Toggle coat from Oldnavy, which I love because you can use it for a casual look and a formal one too. My plaid blanket scarf is one of the warmest scarves I own, it is so cozy and soft but the best part is I got it for only $18 at Target.
The double pom beanie hat I am wearing is an old style I bought a couple of years ago in a small boutique around my neighborhood but I have linked up some similar ones for you above if you are interested. I think it’s a very cute winter hat! Every time I wear it though, people stare at me! Is it because it is so cute and they all wonder where I got such a wonderful hat? Or is it because they think I look ridiculous because I am a grown woman wearing a hat with ears? I’ll make pretend it’s the first one but whatever their reason for staring, I obviously do not care and will keep wearing my very cute hat! 😉 On my days off I like to dress comfortably so I wore a pair of Oldnavy skinny jeans and my combat boots from Steve Madden which I love and have had for quite a couple of years now.
